The bachelor party is a custom that
has probably been around for years. It has no origins, just a bunch of
guys taking a soon to be groom out for "the last time as a free
man" before the wedding day. Traditionally gifts are not given,
except for all expenses to ensure the groom has a good time. The
bachelor party could be as tame as taking the person for a few drinks at a
local bar, renting out a room and paying for entertainment, food and drinks,
or going all out and traveling to Las Vegas or the Caribbean for a week long
of partying. In the past, the bride and her bridesmaids would enjoy a
low key evening. However, the modern brides may go to as many extremes
as the groom. The party and its expenses are usually enough of a
gift. However, if you want to impress upon them a greater deal of your
friendship, you might provide them with some personal gifts as well.
