Communion is a Catholic ritual in which participants receive
the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The act of communion can be
performed each Sunday during the Mass, however, it is a blessing to
receive Communion each day. Non-Catholics do not perform this ritual
except under rare circumstances. The first communion is special and
family and friends will attend the ceremony. Gifts are also many
times given.
