The middle school graduation is not to be taken
lightly. This occasion ends the time where the "kid"
starts to become a young adult - the following year they go into that
big-kid place called high school. Gifts should be joyous.
Gifts may include items for the upcoming summer such as bathing suits and
beach/camp gear. They may also reflect the fact that you are proud
of them by giving them that really large or expensive present to say
"job well done." Unlike a holiday such as Christmas or an
event such as a birthday where the youngster expects a present, this is a
time where you give a gift to the youngster for doing well. Stress
this by giving them as great a gift as you can and signify it as a reward
towards the hard word performed in school. Let them see that
education does matter, and hard work in school will have greater payoffs
in the end.
